Before packing their suitcases, John Jr and Yuēhàn looked at some history books to have a better understanding of how Gettysburg battlefield was so important. 2. John Jr gave Yuēhàn some history about the Civil War. The American Civil War was a war between the Union (Northern US States) and the Confederacy (Southern US States) that lasted from 1861-1865. The war was fought over disagreements about slavery, states vs. federal rights, the election of Abraham Lincoln, and the economy. 3. John Jr found some information on the battle of Gettysburg. The Battle of Gettysburg was a three-day battle fought between Union and Confederate forces between July 1 and July 3, 1863, in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The battle, which was won by the Union, is widely considered the Civil War's turning point, ending the Confederacy's aspirations to establish an independent nation. It was the Civil War's bloodiest battle, claiming over 50,000 combined casualties over three days. 4. Yuēhàn found some information of the final battle and shared it with John Jr. The Battle of Palmito Ranch took place on May 12–13, 1865, near the Rio Grande in Cameron County, Texas. The battle was fought between Confederate forces under Col. John S. “Rip” Ford and Union forces under Col. Theodore H. Barrett. The battle resulted in a Confederate victory. 5. John. Jr and Yuēhàn finished packing and loaded up the car. They had a wonderful time in Gettysburg and even saw a Civil War reenactment.

Turbo was no ordinary turtle. He loved to zoom around on his skateboard, which Max had specially made for him. Every morning, Max and Turbo would race through the park. Turbo would kick off with his little legs, and whoosh, he’d glide across the pavement, his shell gleaming in the sunlight. Max would chase after him on his scooter, laughing as Turbo always took the lead. One day, they decided to explore a new path in the park. It was lined with trees and had a mysterious tunnel at the end. Max and Turbo, being the adventurous duo they were, didn’t hesitate for a second. They sped down the path and zoomed into the tunnel. Inside the tunnel, they found themselves in a magical world where animals could talk, and the trees whispered secrets to each other. Turbo, excited to chat, made friends with a wise old owl named Oliver, who challenged him to a race around the enchanted lake. The race began, and all the animals gathered to watch. Max cheered loudly for Turbo. Around and around they went, Turbo on his skateboard and Oliver swooping through the air. It was a close race, but in the end, Turbo’s speed on wheels won the day! The animals celebrated Turbo and Max with a grand feast, where they shared stories and laughed until the stars came out. When it was time to go home, Oliver gave Max a special acorn as a souvenir, which he promised would bring them back to the magical world whenever they wished. Max and Turbo returned to their town, but they never forgot their adventure. From that day on, Turbo’s skateboard races became even faster, and Max’s smile even brighter, knowing they had a magical friend just a tunnel away. And every now and then, they’d sneak back to the park, hoping to find the tunnel and visit their enchanted friends once again.

One day, Arzhel and his friends were playing in the park. They saw a big building with a beautiful garden and many people. Arzhel asked his father, "Dad, what is that place?" Arzhel's dad said, "That is our house of worship. People go there to pray and worship." Arzhel was excited because he wanted to know what people do inside. The next day, Arzhel's dad took him inside the house of worship. Inside, they saw a leader called a “Pastor” (or priest) teaching people about good things. Arzhel's dad said, “He is the leader who helps us understand God’s words.” As they walked around, Arzhel saw workers cleaning, arranging chairs, and taking care of the plants in the garden. “They are the workers who help our leader keep the house of worship clean and beautiful,” Arzhel's dad said.

Avianna ran to the park, her curly brown hair and big brown eyes sparkling with excitement. She was meeting her best friend, Arlo, a big green T-Rex. Arlo waited by the swings, his tail swishing nervously. "Hi, Avianna!" he called, waving his tiny arms. Avianna smiled, ready for a fun day of Dino Soccer. They kicked the ball back and forth. Avianna was good, but Arlo struggled with his big feet. After a while, Arlo sighed. "I can't do it, Avianna. I'm not good at Dino Soccer," he said. Avianna sat beside him. "It's okay, Arlo. Everyone struggles at first. I had to practice too." Encouraged, Arlo tried again. They practiced daily, and little by little, Arlo improved. One day, Arlo dribbled past Avianna and scored. "I did it, Avianna!" he roared. Avianna hugged him. "You see, Arlo? Practice makes you better! I'm so proud of you!"

The Lost Brother In a small village, two sisters, Sewit and Luwam, loved playing with their little brother, Kudus. But Kudus was always curious and often wandered off. One evening, as the sun set, Sewit noticed Kudus was missing. ________________________________________ Sewit: "Luwam, Kudus is gone again!" Luwam: (worried) "Oh no! It’s getting dark. Let’s take the lantern and find him." ________________________________________ They searched the village, asking everyone if they had seen Kudus, but no one had. Sewit: "He must be in the woods. We have to go!" Luwam: (nervous) "The woods are scary at night!" Sewit: "Don’t worry. We’ll stay together." ________________________________________ The sisters held the lantern tightly as they entered the dark forest. The trees swayed, and strange sounds filled the air. Suddenly, Luwam pointed. "Look! Over there!" Under a big tree, Kudus sat holding a shiny rock that glowed faintly. ________________________________________ Sewit: (relieved) "Kudus! Why did you run off?" Kudus: (innocently) "I saw this glowing rock and wanted to follow it." Luwam: "You scared us! Don’t run away like that again." Kudus: (looking down) "I didn’t think you’d miss me." Sewit: (hugging him) "Of course we’d miss you. We love you, Kudus. We’re stronger when we stick together." ________________________________________ The three of them held hands and walked home, the lantern lighting their way. Kudus never wandered off alone again, knowing his sisters would always look out for him.
