Drippy felt the heat and began to rise into the air, turning into a tiny water vapor. Drippy was starting a big adventure! Drippy joined other tiny drops of water to form a cloud. The clouds were fluffy and soft, and Drippy was excited to be part of something so big. In the cloud, Drippy made new friends with other water drops. They danced around in the wind, having so much fun! But soon, Drippy noticed the cloud getting darker and heavier. It was starting to feel crowded with so many drops of water. One day, the cloud couldn’t hold all the water drops any longer. After the rain stopped, Drippy felt the ground begin to shake. The puddle it landed in started to flow toward a stream. Part 6: Into the Ocean! The stream grew bigger and bigger, merging with other rivers until it finally reached the vast ocean. Drippy was amazed by how big and blue the ocean looked. It spread out as far as the eye could see! Drippy had never imagined such a large body of water. Now, Drippy was a part of the ocean, and there was so much more to explore. It had never realized that the clouds were not trying to compete with it but were actually working alongside it. “So, we’re working together to take care of the Earth?” the Sun asked curiously. The clouds smiled and said, “Yes, your warmth and light are as important as our rain. Together, we keep the Earth balanced.” Hearing this, the Sun felt a sense of relief and pride. It understood that even when its light was hidden behind the clouds, it was still making a difference. The Sun realized it wasn’t alone; it had a vital role in supporting life on Earth. From that day forward, the Sun shone brightly with joy and confidence. It and the clouds worked in harmony, ensuring the Earth stayed warm, nourished, and full of life. Every morning, I wake up early. First, I brush my teeth and wash my face. Then, I have breakfast with my family. We eat rice, eggs, and sometimes fruit. After breakfast, I get ready for school. I wear my uniform and pack my bag with books and pencils. Then, I walk to school with my friends. We talk and laugh on the way. At school, I have many classes like math, science, and English. I enjoy English class because I want to speak fluently like you. After classes, I eat lunch with my friends. We share food and stories. After school, I go home and do my homework. Sometimes it's hard, but I try my best. When I finish, I help my mom with chores like washing dishes or sweeping the floor. Then, I play with my little brother. We like to play games or watch cartoons together. In the evening, we have dinner as a family. We eat delicious Thai food like noodles or curry. After dinner, I take a shower and read a book before bedtime. Then, I say goodnight to my family and go to sleep.

Mom and Dad’s incredible journey begins in Portugal, where they meet in 2019 at a 3D design course—Mom was 28 and teaching interior design classes, and Dad, 27, was dreaming of becoming an architect in Canada. In 2021, during the pandemic, they find a farm in Salmon Arm, BC, where they work in exchange for food and shelter, making their dream of moving to Canada a reality. Mom even adopts two lambs from the farm! They make many wonderful friends in Salmon Arm, and four months later, with a trusty Pontiac Aztec, they find jobs in Vancouver and Abbotsford and settle in Surrey. On May 28, 2022, they get married on a beautiful farm in Salmon Arm, surrounded by both their families and friends. Two years later, they become permanent residents and buy a cozy apartment near Gateway Station in Surrey in 2023. By 2024, their lives take a magical turn—Mom is pregnant! On October 24, baby David is born, a healthy 4.5 kg bundle of joy. Mom’s parents fly in from Portugal to help, while Dad’s parents adore David from afar. It’s a story of love, resilience, and building a family in a new land.
