Yuēhàn found some information of the final battle and shared it with John Jr. The Battle of Palmito Ranch took place on May 12–13, 1865, near the Rio Grande in Cameron County, Texas. As she got better and stronger every day, I realized how much wisdom we can learn from animals like Emmi. She reminded me that even though life can be tough and challenging, we should never give up hope. Just like Emmi, we should always keep fighting and look for the light at the end of the tunnel.
